The Federal Reserve favoured the bail-out of insolvent banks to prevent a systemic crisis. Other financial intermediaries may nonetheless face insolvency in the near future, also because of worsening prospects in both the consumer credit and the commercial real estate markets, as well as in overall macroeconomic conditions. This "Conversation" addresses financial market reactions to the crisis, and to the mounting inflation associated with easy money and natural resources shock.
