Social Experiments and Program Evaluation Conducted by a Research Team from CCA
Experimental Programs Designed to Reduce Poverty and an Evaluation of Their Effectiveness.
In the past few years new programs to reduce poverty have been implemented in several countries around the world. A team of Collegio scholars (composed by: Ainhoa Aparicio, Daniela Del Boca, Chiara Pronzato, and Mariacristina Rossi, Lucia Schiavon e Giuseppe Sorrenti) is making a contribution by evaluating the impact of some of these programs. Specifically, our team is working on an important program focused on young children managed by the social enterprise "Con i bambini" (www.conibambini.org) and financed by the Italian government and several Foundations. The Collegio team has also helped in the design and evaluation of a Cash Transfer Program conditional on attending courses on parenting, labor market search and savings (www.socialscienceregistry.org/trials/1476), the first results of which show positive and significant outcomes. Finally, the Collegio team is involved in the design and implementation of the impact evaluation analysis of a new active labor market policy directed to fragile adults by the Compagnia di San Paolo.
