GIOVANNA NICODANO

Giovanna Nicodano is Professor of Financial Economics at the University of Torino and Fellow of the Collegio Carlo Alberto.

Her research deals with corporate finance, asset pricing and portfolio choice, and has been published in the Journal of Finance, Annals of Finance, Review of Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, European Economic Review, Journal of Public Economics Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics.

A recipient of the European Investment Bank Prize, she obtained her Ph.D. in Economics 1990 from Princeton University.

She began her career as assistant professor at Università Bocconi, where she is a member of the scientific committee of the Centre for Monetary and Financial Economics. In Torino she co-founded the Centre for Research on Pension (CeRP) in 1999, where she initiated a research project on “Asset Classes for Long Run Investors”. She also served as scientific director of the Masters Program in Finance.

She has been a visiting scholar at the London School of Economics, CEMFI Madrid, and the Universities of Amsterdam and Haifa. She has been and is involved in projects sponsored by the EU Commission and the European Science Foundation.
