Carlo Alberto Stochastics Workshop

Moncalieri - 11 June 2010

The "Carlo Alberto Stochastics Workshop" is the first of a series of workshops, which are planned to be held annually at Collegio Carlo Alberto as part of the "de Castro" Statistics Initiative. The theme of this year's workshop is Bayesian asymptotics and the meeting aims at presenting some of the latest advances on asymptotics of Bayesian infinite-dimensional models.
The increasing use of Bayesian nonparametric models in statistical practice has stimulated a very active area of research which analyses their large sample properties according to frequentist criteria. Indeed, in the last decade there has been a wealth of results establishing convergence of the posterior distribution to the "true" distribution that has generated the data and the speed with which such a convergence is achieved. Moreover, also other different approaches to study asymptotic properties of Bayesian models have been pursued leading to interesting and important results. This meeting will feature invited talks delivered by some of the scholars who have been contributing to the field in recent years.
