A delegation from the International Festival of Economics received by President Mattarella
This morning at the Quirinale, the creators and organizers of the 2025 International Festival of Economics – Tito Boeri, Scientific Director; Giuseppe Laterza, President of Editori Laterza; Giorgio Barba Navaretti, President of the Collegio Carlo Alberto; Pietro Garibaldi, Coordinator of the Turin Local Committee (TOLC); and Innocenzo Cipolletta, Coordinator of Editorial Committee – presented the program for the upcoming edition to the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.
The President expressed strong appreciation for the Festival’s contribution in making economics accessible and for its ability to build a knowledge-based community around the Festival’s themes.
In particular, the President highlighted the importance of this year’s topic, “The New Citizens of the World”, both in relation to demographic issues and declining birth rates, and in addressing the sense of uncertainty many young people feel about the future of our society.
In the President’s words: “We are in great need of opportunities to listen to young people – not to pass on a pre-established model from previous generations, but rather to provide them with the tools to build their own vision of society and the economy.”
