Joint UNESCO-ICTP/Collegio Carlo Alberto Program in Economics

The Collegio Carlo Alberto and the UNESCO International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) welcome applications for the Allievi Honors Program (http://www.carloalberto.org/education/allievi/) within the Joint UNESCO-ICTP/Collegio Carlo Alberto Program in Economics.

The program: The Allievi Honors Program aims at enhancing the students’ education to help them succeed in their future academic or professional careers. The Allievi must enroll in a Laurea Magistrale (advanced undergraduate) program in economics or related subjects (including, but not limited to, mathematics, statistics, political science) at the University of Torino or Politecnico of Torino. For foreign students the suggested degrees are Economics and Finance and Insurance of the University of Torino, which are entirely taught in English.

In addition to fulfilling their university requirements, the Allievi are expected to participate in additional activities at the Collegio. These include courses taught in English by the Collegio Carlo Alberto faculty, recruited from top schools on the international academic job market. Several additional courses taught by visiting professors (including UNESCO-ICTP faculty) are also available to students each year. The Allievi also interact with the faculty, fellows and researchers of the Collegio. Moreover, the Allievi have full access to the Collegio's facilities and scientific activities, such as seminars, open lectures, master's and doctoral courses.

Upon successful completion of the program, the Allievi are awarded the Laurea Magistrale degree from the University of Torino, and the Master of Arts degree in Economics from the Collegio Carlo Alberto.

Eligibility: Potential candidates must be undergraduate and graduate students with solid background in mathematics, physics or related disciplines.

Financial aid: A number of scholarships are awarded to candidates based on merit.

Deadline for applications: March 31, 2017.
