Short bio

Alberto Anfossi is Secretary General of the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation. He was appointed by the Management Committee and heads the Foundation's operational structure.
Alberto Anfossi graduated with distinction in Physics at the University of Turin, earned a PhD in Physics at the Polytechnic of Turin and began his career as a post-doc researcher in the field of quantum statistical mechanics.

After earning a Master's Degree in Economics at Collegio Carlo Alberto, Alberto Anfossi worked at the Polytechnic of Turin, INFN, the Italian Institute of Nuclear Physics, and Collegio Carlo Alberto, supporting research groups in attracting competitive funds and managing funding. He participated in the VQR evaluation exercises for the years 2004-2014 at ANVUR, the Italian National Agency for Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes. In 2018, he worked as Innovation Manager for the Equiter S.p.A Research and Innovation Fund.

Alongside his academic and research activity, Alberto Anfossi has gained many years of experience in the non-profit sector, becoming directly involved in the fair trade movement, locally, nationally and internationally.

His experience with the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation began in 2013, when he joined the Compagnia di San Paolo Sistema Torino Consortium to head the Fund Raising area, becoming its Director in May 2016. In 2018, Alberto Anfossi was selected by the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation for the position of Local Development Director, with responsibility for coordinating the various units to implement the 2017- 2020 strategic plan.

Alberto Anfossi was unanimously appointed Secretary General of the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation on 27 July 2018, a position to which he was reappointed on 11 May 2020 by the new Management Committee for the four year term 2020 2024.
