The Collegio Carlo Alberto offers up to eighteen positions of Senior Allievo.

Potential candidates are students who plan to enroll in the Laurea Magistrale (master's degree) at the University or at the Politecnico of Torino in the academic year 2024-2025 (specifically, students who will start their Laurea Magistrale in the fall 2024).

Applicants may choose between two tracks:

  • Economics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics; and
  • Social and Political Sciences

Potential candidates for the track in Economics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics are students who plan to enroll in the Laurea Magistrale (master's degree) in Economics and related subjects (including but not limited to engineering, mathematics, statistics) at the University or at the Politecnico of Torino in the academic year 2024-2025.

Potential candidates for the track in Social and Political Sciences are students who plan to enroll in the Laurea Magistrale (master's degree) in Sociology, Political Science and related subjects (including but not limited to communication, philosophy, psychology, and history) at the University or at the Politecnico of Torino in the academic year 2024-2025. The track in Social and Political Sciences is aimed at students passionate about Social and Political Sciences (SPS). This empirically-based track aims to inspire students to approach social and political phenomena analytically.

The Allievi are outstanding students who are expected to excel in the fulfillment of their university requirements, as well as to participate in additional activities (classes and tutorials) at the Collegio. The program aims at enhancing the students’ education to help them succeed in their future international academic or professional careers. The Allievi program in Economics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics has an established tradition regarding the job placement of its students. Its Alumni now work in prestigious consulting firms, banks and insurance companies or attend some of the best international PhD programs.

The Allievi interact on a daily basis with faculty members and fellows of the Collegio. Moreover, they have access to the Collegio’s facilities and scientific activities, such as seminars, lectures, master's and doctoral courses.

The Collegio awards individual scholarships and provides study stations to admitted students. Moreover, a mentor, who supervises each Allievo’s studies at the Collegio, is nominated upon enrollment.

In addition to the Laurea Magistrale degree awarded by the University or by the Politecnico of Torino, the Allievi in the Economics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics track who successfully fulfill the Collegio requirements are awarded, base on their individual study plan, either the Master in Economics ot the Master in Statistics and Applied Mathematics from the Collegio.

In addition to the Laurea Magistrale degree awarded by the University or by the Politecnico of Torino, the Allievi in the Social and Political Sciences track who successfully fulfill the Collegio requirements are awarded the Master in Social and Political Sciences from the Collegio.

The Master’s Degree awarded to the Allievi has no legal value according to Italian Regulations.

How to Apply

Any (Italian or foreign) student who, in the academic year 2024-2025, plans to enroll in the Laurea Magistrale at the University or at the Politecnico of Torino, is entitled to apply for admission to the Allievi Program.

The electronic application form for admission must be submitted by July 4, 2024. Only for the track in Social and Political Sciences applications received by September 4, 2024 may be examined in case there are still positions available.

The applicant may, in presence of a suitable motivation, ask the committee to evaluate her/his application before the deadline. Such a request has to be sent to allievi@carloalberto.org.

A letter of recommendation written by a faculty member of your University must accompany the application. This letter must be sent directly by the faculty member, either by e-mail to allievi@carloalberto.org or by regular mail to:
