Short Bio

Laura Scomparin, Full Professor of Criminal Procedure, Deputy Rector for Social Sciences Research and Head of the Journalism Master’s Degree (University of Turin). She was Chair of the Law Department (2013-2018) and, previously, Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Political Science (2011-2013), both at the University of Turin. She is Chair of the Anti-Corruption Research Group of the Law Schools Global League, Editor of the Journal “La legislazione penale” (ranked ‘A’ in the list of scientific journals hold by the Italian Ministry for University and Research), and referee for several editorial boards. Her research interests include: Criminal law; Criminal Law of Public Administration; International Criminal Justice; and Prison Law. Principal Investigator of many projects funded by the EU focusing on, among others, International corruption in public procurements, Whistleblowing and Open data in preventing and combating corruption. She is currently the Principal Investigator of a new EU research project on Confiscation and freezing of assets. She teaches several graduate and postgraduate courses and has a special interest in e-learning methodologies. She is founder and director of the Legal Clinic Programme of the Turin Law School.
