Chiara Saraceno is the recipient of the Tartufari Award

We are delighted to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our Honorary Fellow Chiara Saraceno, who is one of the four winners of the prestigious “Prof. Luigi Tartufari” International Awards for 2023, organized by the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei.

Prof. Saraceno received the award in the field of Economia e Società (Economics and Society), dedicated to recognizing outstanding scholars who have made significant advancements in the study of economic and societal dynamics.

These awards serve as a testament to the enduring legacy of Prof. Luigi Tartufari and the commitment to fostering socio-economic research excellence. The candidates to the award are nominated by members of the Academy and the Presidents of major Italian and foreign academies. The selection process involves a thorough review by dedicated committees, with at least three members of the Academy. The winners of the Tartufari Award will be announced and celebrated during the morning of November 10th, as part of the academic year’s inauguration.

Chiara Saraceno has been Professor of  Sociology at the University of Turin and Research Professor at the Wissenschaftszentrum für Sozialforschung in Berlin. Her studies primarily revolve around family arrangements and family change; gender and intergenerational relations; welfare states and social policies; poverty and social exclusion.

We congratulate Prof. Saraceno for her exceptional contributions to this vital field of study and look forward to her continued impact on our understanding of societal challenges.
